County Executive Innamorato Announces New Slate for Juvenile Detention Advisory Board
PITTSBURGH – Last year County Executive Innamorato announced her intention to re-establish the 10-member Juvenile Detention Board of Advisors prior to the Shuman Juvenile Detention Center, now known as Highland Detention Center at Shuman, reopening.
As part of a lawsuit settlement with County Council regarding the county contracting with Adelphoi to operate Highland Detention Center, the County Executive agreed to select one Council recommended representative to the Board of Advisors.
County Executive Innamorato today announced five appointments to the Juvenile Detention Board of Advisors, which were submitted to County Council for approval.
- The Honorable Judge Tiffany E. Sizemore, Allegheny Court of Common Pleas
- Dr. Kathi Elliott, Chief Executive Officer, Gwen’s Girls
- Richard Garland, Executive Director, Reimagine Reentry
- Kristy Trautmann, Executive Director, FISA Foundation
- Dr. Terri Collin Dilmore, clinical and forensic psychologist, Assistant Professor, Howard University*
*signifies the County Council recommended Board candidate.
Additionally, President Judge Susan J. Evashavik previously selected the following individuals to fill the required three appointments on the Board of Advisors.
- The Honorable Judge Jennifer S. McCrady, Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas
- Dr. Edward Mulvey, Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus and Former Director of the Law and Psychiatry Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
- Cheyenne Tyler, Executive Director, Café Momentum
The two remaining seats of the 10-person board will be filled by County Executive Sara Innamorato and the County Controller or a designee, per state statute.
