Big News: The Secretary of State Website is Being Updated
It is re-organized to provide quicker access to important information, and we believe it will be easier to use.
After business hours on Wednesday, July 8, the redesigned SOS website will go LIVE. It should be fully up and running when the workday starts on July 9.
In Case You Missed It: Registration Is Open for the West Coast Notary Conference
Hosted by the Oregon Secretary of State, the conference is being held August 13-14, 2026, at the Salem Convention Center. We have a packed agenda that includes sessions on specialty notarizations in caregiver and medical situations, identifying and preventing fraud, protecting yourself from charges of misconduct, starting and running a notary business, and more! We are even offering a four-part notary basics training over the two days—it’s a great option if you are preparing to apply for a new commission, or for your friends who have been thinking about becoming a notary but haven’t made the leap yet.
