News About Municipal Audits in Oregon
Oregon's local governments are required to file annual financial reports with the Oregon Secretary of State (ORS 297.405-.990).
Reports in Lieu of Audit are due within 90-days of fiscal year end. Municipal corporations do not spend more than $150,000 and had adequate fidelity bond coverage throughout the year are eligible to file reports in lieu of audit (ORS 297.445(2)). The due date for a local government with a June 30 fiscal year-end is September 30. A complete fiscal year filing includes the report and payment of the filing fee. Submit your report today!
Agreed-Upon Procedures Rulemaking Notice
The notice of proposed rulemaking to adopt minimum standards for agreed-upon procedures of Oregon's Municipal Corporations is out for public comment. You can review and provide feedback on these rules through October 3, 2023. You are also encouraged to attend a public hearing to provide comment and participate in a discussion of the rules. The public hearing is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26, at 11:00.
