Oregon Blue Book
Oregon's National Monuments Digital Exhibit

Oregon has many unique and beautiful spots. But there are a handful of places so special and important that they are recognized as national monuments. The 2023-2024 Oregon Blue Book highlights these areas in our print edition (which you can purchase here). We’ve also created a brand-new digital exhibit meant to celebrate these wonderful Oregon gems.

Layers in time

John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve, and Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument contain rare combinations of species, geologic history and unique features.

Through video, our exhibit lets you hear from those who work in the monuments and care for them daily. Integrated maps give you a sense of these places and how to travel around in them. Beautiful exhibit photography lets you soak in the scenery of these Oregon landscapes.

Introduce yourself to the startling colors and ancient fossils of John Day Fossil Beds. Get to know the expansive volcanic formations and exciting recreation opportunities at Newberry. Learn about visiting the inside and outside of a mountain at Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve. Explore the vast ecological diversity and wild spaces at Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.
