Oregon Municipal Corporations: Audit Summary Report

Have you ever wondered how many local governments serve you? Have you wanted more information about the governments listed on your property tax statement, like what they do with your tax dollars?

We issued a summarized report on Oregon's local governments that were required to file a financial statement audit with our office; take a look inside to see which ones filed their required reports on time and whether their auditor made recommendations for improvement. Out of 1,178 governments that were required to file an audit for the 2021 fiscal year, 348 governments had audit recommendations and 61 had not yet filed their report and were over one year delinquent.

For answers and information, check out the recently issued Municipal Summary Report for fiscal year 2021 audits filed with the Secretary of State.

Not all local governments are required to file an audit. Some governments spending less than $500,000 a year may be exempt from the audit requirement. However, their financial reports, along with all audit reports, can be viewed on our website if you search by name, government type, or county of operation.
