Lea was elected by fifth graders from across the state and will focus on her platform of promoting kindness to combat bullying. Lea attends Hawks View Elementary in Sherwood, Oregon. To address her vision, Lea outlined a plan to foster connections between classmates through a weekly note program she calls Tootles. She will ask all Oregonian fifth graders to share tootles with her so she can share them on her blog. She also plans to help schools appoint “kindness helpers” and promote daily acts of kindness. Her campaign video can be viewed here.
