This class will cover the basic legal framework for public records in Oregon including relevant laws and administrative rules governing access and retention. The instructor will go over new technologies and the basics of managing electronic records
During this training, you will learn the ins and outs of performing the duties of an agency Records Officer including everything from how to write a records management policy to how to approve records destruction reports.
During this training, you will get an overview of standards and laws related to disaster preparedness. You will learn how to identify and prioritize essential records, assess risks to essential records, and protect essential records.
Records Disaster Preparedness 102: Advanced Topics
Topics discussed include: life safety, damage to buildings, communications, and records salvage/recovery. Before registering for this advanced course, users are encouraged to attend "Records Disaster Preparedness 101."
Transferring Records to the State Archives and State Records Center
Learn how to transfer records to the State Archives for permanent preservation and how to transfer records to the Oregon State Records Center warehouse for temporary storage.
