Oregon’s 2022 Kid Governor Emerie Martin To Be Sworn During Special Virtual Ceremony

SALEM, OR – Emerie Martin, a fifth grader at Pleasant Hill Elementary in Pleasant Hill, will be sworn in as Oregon’s 5th Kid Governor in a special ceremony hosted by Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan.

Emerie was elected by fifth graders from across the state and will focus on her platform of preventing animal abuse.

Emerie Martin’s three-point plan:

• The Lend a P.A.W. Initiative:
  Participate by volunteering in animal shelters
  Acknowledge animals need love, care, and attention
  Welcome them into your loving home
• Organize fundraisers and supply drives
• Stop people who have been convicted of animal abuse from adopting another animal
