Notice of Permanent Administrative Order

Repeal of OAR 165-005-0180

Relating To Inactivation of Voters

The Elections Division hereby provides notice of a permanent administrative order for OAR 165-005-0180 which will be repealed effective January 6, 2022. Prior to the effective date of the repeal of the administrative rule, the Elections Division held a public hearing and allowed time for public comments to be submitted. More information may be found below and on our website.

FILING CAPTION: Proposes repeal of rule for inactivating voters for not voting or updating registration.

RULE SUMMARY: The proposal to repeal this rule is intended to implement the legislative changes set out in House Bill 2681 (2021) which state that a voter may not be considered inactive for not voting or for not updating their registration.
