Oregon Secretary of State’s Audits Division is #1 in the Nation for State and Local Reports at Oversight.gov 

Government transparency site hosts 129 publicly accessible reports from the Secretary of State’s Audits Division

Salem, OR - The Oregon Secretary of State’s Audits Division has received the top ranking in the U.S. among the Top Six Agencies with state and local reports on Oversight.gov. 

Oversight.gov contains publicly accessible reports, investigations and recommendations from state and local inspection offices. It is managed by the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency and is designed to provide public access to independent and authoritative information. 

“The mission I’ve laid out for the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office is to build trust between Oregonians and their state government so Oregonians can trust the public services and the public servants who can make a difference in their everyday lives,” said Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan. “Our Audits Division is a national leader, ensuring the people of Oregon understand the effectiveness of state agencies and how resources are used.“ 

“Oregon was among the first states to participate with Oversight.gov because Oregonians expect transparency and accountability,” said Audits Director Kip Memmott. “I’m incredibly proud of our work to provide the people of Oregon with transparent information about their government. We are ranked at the top because of the dedication and hard work of the Audits team.”  

Oversight.gov also released a statement:  “The Oregon Secretary of State, Audits Division has been a key participant in Oversight.gov's State and Local page, which was recently launched this year. The office currently ranks as #1 in number of reports uploaded to the site. We are grateful for the contributions the Oregon Audits Division has made for the oversight community!”
