2020 Reports and Extensions
2020 financial reports were due by December 31, 2020. Not surprisingly, we received a record number of extension requests - over 300. The pandemic, wildfires, flooding, ice storms and a lot of disruption! What an unexpected year.
Thank you to those who continue to diligently serve those in your communities. Please continue to reach out with questions, seek resources, and to keep me posted about the status of your ongoing audits.
Survey results are in – thank you!
We sent out two surveys, one to municipal auditors and one to the general municipal community. We've received over 150 responses and appreciate the feedback and information. Your input will drive our efforts going forward.
Change of Address, or New Municipal Registration
If you have a newly formed municipality please complete the registration form online. This will provide us important information about your entity and will ensure you're in our database so we can receive annual filings and provide any necessary communications.
If your municipality is already registered but you have a new address or other information to update, please use the same Municipal Information and Registration Form. It is important to keep your information up-to-date so you don't miss out on important news and communications.
If your municipality is dissolving you should notify our office. You can call us or complete the Municipal Information and Registration Form and include comments about the change you're making.
New Online Forms
Many of you have already used the Summary of Revenues and Expenditures (SRE) form that we converted to an online submission form. We also created an online form for those who file Reports in Lieu of Audit.
We are continually working toward modernization of our processes and this is one more step in the right direction. We hope you find these new online forms easy and efficient to use. Please let us know if you have questions, concerns, or feedback once you have the chance to use these new options.
Staffing Changes
One last bit of news – there is a new Municipal Program Lead in town! Many of you had the opportunity to work with Sarah Anderson who was with the program for over two years. While it's always sad to see people move on, I'm thrilled Sarah has been promoted to Audit Manager and is staying at the Audits Division.
She is succeeded by Shelly Cardenas. Shelly comes to the program with many years of experience leading financial statement and compliance audits and has been the lead auditor for the State of Oregon's annual financial audit and central compilation. I expect you'll find her knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Please join me in welcoming her to our community.
