FILING CAPTION: Clarifies the process for administratively discontinuing political committees and petition committees. 

CHANGES TO RULE: The proposed amendments to the text of the rule may be found in the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.

PUBLIC HEARING: The hearing will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. The hearing will take place on May 27, 2021 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit our website for more information. 

LAST DAY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT: Public comments may be sent to the Elections Division until May 28, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

NEED FOR RULE: This rule proposes amendments to the process used to administratively discontinue political committees and petition committees. These amendments are necessary to make the process more efficient and to create a mechanism for the agency to administratively discontinue political committees or petition committees when the individual(s) responsible for the committee are deceased.
