SALEM, OR — On Tuesday, March 19, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, the Office of the Secretary of State will host the cover photographers and student essay contest winners of this year’s Oregon Blue Book. The photographers and students will be available to sign copies of the Blue Book and discuss their work. The signing will take place outside the Oregon State Capitol Gift Shop located in the Oregon State Capitol building in Salem.
The theme of this newest edition of the Oregon Blue Book is fairs and festivals and features a front cover image, Light at the End of the Tunnel, Hike to Pittock Mansion, Portland, by Meridith Allen of Portland. The back cover image, Art Along the Rogue, Grants Pass, is by Susan Sheets of Grants Pass.

Cooper McKenzie, Rockville Elementary School, Jordan Valley
This edition of the Blue Book contains photos and histories of Oregon’s longstanding community fairs, festivals, and local celebrations, many of which are recognized as Oregon Heritage Traditions. The book also includes the winners of this year’s student essays and photos contests, updated sections on Oregon’s economy and government finance, and Oregon’s state and election history.
The Oregon Blue Book, Oregon's official almanac and fact book, has been updated and published every other year since 1911. It is an institution, an Oregon icon, and a collector's item. This latest edition was printed as a limited edition with only 1,500 books available for purchase.
