City Council news
Portland City Council voted 8-4 on Wednesday to approve a non‑binding term sheet outlining the framework for renovating the City-owned Moda Center. The approval allows negotiations with Rip City Management to enter a more detailed phase. A finalized agreement is expected to come back to Council later this year for consideration.
Portland City Council unanimously passed an ordinance directing the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) to evaluate and implement No Turn on Red restrictions at signalized intersections within the City's High Crash Network. The ordinance targets Portland's High Crash Network, where 8% of streets account for 62% of traffic deaths.

The Capacity Building and Grantmaking Program Intern will provide research, administrative, and coordination support for a combination of internal and external facing responsibilities.

Join Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) and our community partners on a bike tour of climate investments along 82nd Ave. Grab your helmet and meet us at the Bird Alliance of Oregon on NE 82nd Ave and NE Siskiyou. From there, we’ll stop along the way to see PCEF-funded projects, and then we’ll end at the Jade Night Market at the PCC Campus. Have you seen a white stripe on the curb in front of your house?
The white stripe means the planting space between the curb and sidewalk has been identified as a good spot for a street tree! Street trees are critically needed, climate-resilient infrastructure. But, as you may have noticed, not all neighborhoods have this protective canopy. In fact, while areas west of the Willamette River have 56% tree canopy, the east side (where most Portlanders live) has only 22%.
If you have a white stripe, Urban Forestry contractors will plant new street trees this winter and care for them by pruning, watering, and mulching for the next three years. The best part? This is all provided for FREE with funding from the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF).
