MODA Center
Last week, City Council held a work session on the proposed Moda Center term sheet. As we consider this once-in-a-generation investment, my priority is making sure Portlanders receive the best possible and fair agreement.
The Moda Center is an important economic and cultural asset for the city, but with significant public investment under consideration, we have a responsibility to ask tough questions, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure any agreement delivers long-term value for our community.
During the work session, I emphasized the importance of thoughtful negotiations and accountability. We owe it to Portlanders to secure a deal that supports our economy, protects public resources, and benefits our city for years to come.
Plan Ahead: Brace for 5 weeks of major construction on I-5
Major construction is coming to I-5 southbound beginning September 11, with a full closure between I-405 and I-84 lasting up to five weeks. Travel times may take two to three times longer than usual, with impacts expected on nearby streets and regional routes.
Please review the map, plan alternate routes, allow extra time, and stay informed before traveling through the Rose Quarter area.
