Prepare for Tree Pests this Summer
The emerald ash borer, an invasive pest that targets ash trees, was officially confirmed in Portland last summer. Now that it is here, a moratorium on pruning and removal of ash trees is in effect from April 1 through September 30, annually. Property owners can still treat their trees with protective insecticide during this time. Chemical treatment permits are available for treating ash street trees.
