The 2026 Oregon Contemporary Artists’ Biennial "The Price of the Ticket" opens April 3. Curated by TK Smith, an independent curator, writer, and cultural historian, the exhibition features artists from across the state whose work explores history, citizenship, and belonging.
As part of the biennial, Portland-based artist Todd McGrain’s bronze "Bust of York" will be presented through satellite programming at Oregon Contemporary and will debut at the Portland Art Museum. During the exhibition, Portlanders will be invited to participate in a survey conducted by Portland State University’s Regional Research Institute to help inform the sculpture’s future permanent placement. This project is supported by the Office of Arts & Culture through the Portland Monuments Project, a City-led initiative focused on reimagining monuments and public art through community engagement, historical research, and public education.

Portland's Arts Access Fund supports arts education for 27,000 students in Portland elementary schools, and provides funding more than 100 full-time arts teachers and educators serving students across the City's six districts and charter schools.
A new article from the Office of Arts & Culture details how the Arts Access Fund supports elementary arts education and shares ways the community can experience student artwork at exhibits and events across the city, including The Portland Building, Literary Arts, Two Stroke Coffee, and the Portland Art Museum.
There’s still time to help shape a new grant opportunity for Portland’s arts community. The Office of Arts & Culture is seeking feedback on draft guidelines for its new Operating Support program, launching in 2026–27.
Review the guidelines and share your input by Wednesday, April 1.
