Depave, SOLVE & Central Eastside Industrial Council Cleanup
This morning I had the joy of helping clean up the site of Depave’s popup plaza at SE 7th and Sandy. As part of a SOLVE cleanup, along with Depave and Central Eastside Industrial Council, volunteers worked to get ready for Depave’s 4th annual Big Break Block Party. The event, which will feature live music, food, crafts, skating and more, will be held TOMORROW, Saturday August 9th, from 5 to 11 p.m.!
Depave’s long-term plans for the site include adding a native garden, greenspace, and bioswale to complement the planned Portland Indigenous Marketplace nearby. To learn more about Depave check out their website here: https://www.depave.org/
It’s always amazing to see the difference a SOLVE cleanup event makes, and today’s event was no exception! Thank you to all the volunteers who make our city more beautiful! To learn about upcoming events and how to get involved with SOLVE check out their website here.
  Local Progress
What a pleasure it was to attend and speak at a Local Progress event last Thursday night! It was invigorating to spend time with fellow progressive lawmakers, and a powerful reminder that we are stronger together. The organization’s focus on the priorities of economic justice, housing, immigrant justice, community-based public safety solutions, and education are what we need right now. I am so so grateful to be part of this community!
