Feature of the Week

Earth Day Parades!

Over the weekend I got to be in TWO parades with my D3 colleagues!

Saturday morning we started off at the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade and ran into Representative Chotzen, Commissioner Brim Edwards, and Senator Pham. We also got to walk with Councilors Smith and Avalos from District 1. It was the best way to start the weekend. Councilor Morillo and I danced with the Rose City Dancing Witches.

Councilor Morillo and I then headed over to Sunnyside Elementary for the Earth Day Parade! I was able to judge the costume contest and walk through my neighborhood with some amazing kiddos.

I love District 3!

Coming Up

Constituent Coffee (with the kids!)

On Saturday, May 10 we will be holding our monthly constituent coffee. Monthly constituent coffees are a way to learn from fellow neighbors in District 3 about needs and opportunities, challenges and progress.

This month’s event will be at Brentwood Park playground - you bring your kiddos to play on the playground, we'll bring some coffee for everyone!

I want to hear from you about your concerns about what is happening in the district. Join us from 9:30-10:30.

Budget Town Halls in District 3

Saturday, May 10 my fellow District 3 Councilors and I will be having our final budget town hall hosted by SE Uplift.

It is so important to us to hear from you, so we can advocate for your priorities and values as we prepare to work on the budget with the Mayor. Your voices matter, and it’s my job to bring your voices into City Hall with me!

May Day Rally

This May Day I had the honor and privilege to speak at the 50501 Movement May Day Rally! May Day is one day where we acknowledge and celebrate the solidarity of workers around the world! I am so very proud to be a rank and file union member of the Portland Association of Teachers (PAT)! Happy May Day to all my union siblings and comrades!

Transportation Trivia for the Community Cycling Center

I am endlessly grateful for community partners like the Community Cycling Center for their tireless work to bring the joy, confidence, and passion of bicycling to our community. I was honored to be invited to be a guest speaker at their Transportation Trivia last night! The freedom to safely move – around and through our neighborhoods, our districts, our city – is a fundamental right. It empowers us, it connects us, it makes our communities resilient and vibrant. As one of your District 3 Portland City Councilors I am committed to centering work that makes active transportation safer and more accessible.
