This week Councilor Morillo secured a major step forward for renters — Her ordinance banning algorithmic rent price fixing passed out of the ! Now it’s moving to the full City Council for a first hearing on the morning of Wednesday, April 2nd.
We need your support to get this across the finish line!
Here’s how you can :
✅ (2-minute speaking slots) MOST IMPORTANT ✅ in favor of the ordinance (strongly encouraged due to time constraints) ✅Show up in person at Portland City Hall (1221 Southwest 4th Ave.) on April 2nd 11:00am-12:30pm to demonstrate strong public support. Wear blue! Bring signs that say, “Stop Algorithmic Price Fixing!”

We have also heard questions and concerns from a number of community members over the past few weeks about how the City navigates tree code, removal fees, and general policies.

Minoru Yasui Day
March 28 is Minoru Yasui Day. Born in Hood River, Mr. Yasui sacrificed his comfort and his freedom in his fight for human rights when he intentionally broke the curfew that was imposed on Japanese Americans in 1942 via Executive Order 9066, the last time that the Alien Enemies Act was invoked.
