Thank you to everyone who came out during Welcoming Week to celebrate the different cultures and communities that make Portland a beautiful place to live!
There are many reasons that someone may leave their county of origin - falling in love, following their dreams, keeping their family safe, chasing new experiences, and more. Whatever the reason, we're glad you're here!
Civic Life's Immigrant & Refugee Program partners with our immigrant and refugee communities to bring their voices to City of Portland decision-making and create equitable services, resources, and policies. A report on this year's Welcoming Week events will be available soon.

Are you registered to vote? To register to vote in Oregon, you must be:
- A U.S. citizen
- A resident of Oregon
- At least 16 years old
If you are not yet 18 years old, you will not receive a ballot until an election occurs on or after your 18th birthday. Register to vote, check your registration, or update your registration.
What is Ranked-Choice Voting?
In a ranked-choice voting (RCV) system, voters have the option to rank candidates in order of preference instead of selecting only one candidate. The City of Portland is hosting community voter education town halls with Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation.

The Parks Bureau's Urban Forestry team is giving away two free trees to anyone in Portland! The goal is to increase Portland’s urban tree canopy by providing 3,000 free trees to people and organizations in Portland. The urban tree canopy helps to keep our air clean, cool our city down on hot days, and help create safer, healthier, greener spaces in our neighborhoods.
