*These districts are Tow Zones. Make sure to move your vehicle beyond the boundary by 7:30 a.m. on Leaf Day. Any vehicles parked on the street will be subject to a citation and tow.
Type your address into the Leaf District Locator to see details of your service dates and district boundaries. Zone numbers that say "clean sweep" on the pop up details are areas where cars will be towed if left on the street during Leaf Day Pickup hours. Keep an eye out for no parking signs posted in these areas.

One day before. Rake the leaves you want picked up into the street one day before your scheduled Leaf Day pickup.

Tree leaves only. Use regular yard bins for twigs, branches, needles, grass clippings, and other debris.

Keep one foot of space between your pile and the curb for storm runoff and to make it easier for our sweepers. Also allow plenty of clearance between your pile and any vehicle left parked on the street.

Trim your trees to leave 11 feet of clearance. Make sure you trim any low-hanging tree limbs over the street so our equipment can get as close to the curb as possible and get the best clean. Learn more about tree pruning and permits.

Move vehicles and other objects off the street. Whenever possible, allow plenty of clearance between your pile and anything left parked on the street. Leaf Day service districts are small enough that you should never have to travel more than a quarter mile to park a vehicle outside the boundaries of a Leaf Day district.

Help your neighbors. People are still working from home in large numbers, with vehicles parked longer. Check in with your neighbors so everyone remembers to move their vehicles on Leaf Day.

Don’t get towed. Moving your vehicle is REQUIRED in the districts listed. On Leaf Day, you are subject to a $85 citation for violating a temporary no parking zone as well as $264 in tow fees ($337 for larger vehicles) in these districts. Not in a Leaf District? Due to ongoing budget cuts, PBOT eliminated the residential street sweeping program June 30, 2023. PBOT crews still sweep 1,000 miles of major arterial 6-8 times per year as well as protected bike lanes 5 times per year. However, we no longer have budget authority to sweep residential streets outside the boundaries of our Leaf Day program. This means we are unable to accommodate any additional requests or spot cleaning. For emergency road hazards, clogged storm drains, or other hazards in the right-of-way such as downed signs, continue to contact PBOT's 24/7 Maintenance Dispatch at 503-823-1700.
