Online open house and survey now available!

After two years of analysis, community engagement, and refinement of our work, the North Portland in Motion team is seeking feedback on project and program recommendations.

We are currently working on the draft plan document. Following this open house, PBOT will release the draft North Portland in Motion plan in early 2024 with expected council adoption in mid-2024.

The online open house and survey will be open until January 31, 2024.

What’s new in this third and final North Portland in Motion open house:

  • New and refined project descriptions
Community members, in particular the North Portland in Motion Community Advisory Group, helped refine the projects over the past year. We want to hear if there is anything we missed or should consider for these projects.
  • Policy and program recommendations
These are recommendations that don’t fit neatly into specific infrastructure projects, but instead address how we do projects or how we add in programming, partnerships, and street activation throughout North Portland.
  • Longer-term project recommendations and considerations
We heard from community members about many projects that are beyond the scope of North Portland in Motion but connected to the goal of improving active transportation in North Portland. In this section we share the information we have gathered to date and issues to consider going forward.

More to come in 2024

Many North Portland in Motion projects are in progress, and you can expect to see a number of projects on the ground in 2024.

News: PBOT and ODOT secure

major grant for N Lombard Street

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Great Streets Program announced four projects that will receive the remaining $36 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including improvements to N Lombard Street. The North Portland in Motion team worked closely with community members to advocate for the project and develop the design. Improvements include extending sidewalks, adding protected bike lanes, replacing turn lanes with green stormwater treatment areas, and improving intersection safety.
