PBOT is Recruiting New Members for the Portland Pedestrian Advisory Committee

Are you passionate about making Portland a great walking city?

Do you agree with PedPDX, Portland’s Citywide Pedestrian Plan, that walking is a fundamental human right and the most fundamental means of transportation?

Then perhaps you may be interested in serving on the Portland Pedestrian Advisory Committee (PAC).

The City is currently recruiting applications for new PAC members to serve a two-year term. The PAC is a City Advisory Body that advise City Council and all departments of the City (though primarily the Portland Bureau of Transportation, PBOT) on all matters that encourage and enhance walking as a means of transportation, recreation, wellness, and environmental enhancement. In this context walking includes the use of medically approved devices that provide a similar level of mobility.

The PAC is a 15-member committee that meets monthly to discuss city transportation policy, programs, and projects that impact how people move around the city on foot. The committee may also be asked to provide input to the Bureau or City Council on projects led by partner agencies.
