Cully Public Works Improvement Project
Project Update
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), in partnership with the Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) and the Portland Water Bureau (PWB), is approaching final design on two major projects in the Cully neighborhood: the Cully Neighborhood Street Improvement Project and the 70s Greenway: Cully Connector (NE 72nd Avenue) Project.
Moving forward, the combined project will be referred to the Cully Public Works Improvement Project. These projects are being combined for procurement and construction to deliver the project more efficiently and better mitigate neighborhood impacts.
For the public this means one point of contact, one construction manager, and one prime contractor on the job.
Authority to Bid Milestone
On June 28th, 2023, City Council will hear an ordinance that will allow PBOT to seek bids for the Cully Public Works Improvement Project. This authorization is needed before advertising the project for bids by private construction contractors, a milestone anticipated to occur in early 2024.
Schedule Updates
- Right of way process is underway and should wrap up in fall 2023
- Target for bid is early 2024
- Construction likely to begin in spring/summer 2024
