Hello! We would like to thank you for participating in our Block Party and Healthy Block programs!

Portland's Bureau of Transportation's Portland in the Streets have some exciting news to share - Block Parties are back!

Block Parties are an amazing opportunity to meet your neighbors, build community, have fun, and create a space for kids to safely play. The application takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and the permit is free.

The return of Block Parties means the retirement of our Healthy Blocks program. The Healthy Blocks program was an innovative response to the COVID-19 pandemic and with a record-breaking number of applications, proved to be a huge success. Thank you to the more than 800 of you who hosted one of these events.

While Healthy Blocks has been retired, we are bringing some elements over to the Block Party program. For example, Block Parties can now utilize household items as barricades for their street closures if they are appropriately identified in their application.

Please visit our website for details and how you can get involved. Additionally, keep an eye on your inbox for monthly newsletters just like this one so you never miss an update about our Block Party program.

Please reach out to pbotblockparty@portlandoregon.gov with any questions.

We look forward to the upcoming Block Party season with all of you!
