Events to explore in January!
(January 8, 2020) The new year is underway and the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is already racing to make 2020 a successful and impactful year in transportation. Come learn about what PBOT and its partners are up to in the new year!
Metro Council Public Hearing on Transportation Investments
Metro Council wants to hear directly from you, the public, about transportation investments that could be a part of a 2020 transportation funding ballot measure. PBOT encourages the public to comment at this special Metro Council hearing hosted at Metro Regional Center. Metro staff and local transportation planners will be on hand to answer questions about projects and programs that could be included in a funding measure.
If you wish to provide verbal testimony, please plan to sign up in person at Metro between 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Jan. 13. Verbal testimony at the hearing will be limited to two minutes. Written testimony of any length may be shared at the meeting or by e-mail at getmoving@oregonmetro.gov. Written comments received by 2 p.m. on Jan. 13 will be shared with Metro Councilors prior to the meeting.

Fix-It Fair at Ockley Green Middle School
Come connect with experts to learn simple ways to save money and be healthy all year long at January’s Fix It Fair, hosted at Ockley Green Middle School. At this free community event, there will be all-day exhibits, workshops, health tests, financial consulting, free lunch, childcare, and much more!
Fix-It Fairs are free events that teach you easy ways to save money and keep your family healthy. Come take advantage of free resources and discuss water and energy conservation, recycling, yard care, and composting with experts. PBOT will be offering tips and techniques for staying dry, comfortable, and safe while riding your bike all year round and a quick five-minute tune-up to keep your bike running smoothly through the winter! SW Capitol Highway: Multnomah Village-West Portland Construction Open House
Construction is nearly underway on the SW Capitol Highway: Multnomah Village to West Portland project! PBOT welcomes all who anticipate they will be impacted by construction to join us at the Multnomah Arts Center, and learn about the construction phase of this project. The event will run from 6:00-8:30 p.m. with a short presentation at 7:00pm, but feel free to drop in anytime to get complete information.
The SW Capitol Highway: Multnomah Village to West Portland project will provide sidewalks, bike lanes, stormwater management facilities and water system upgrades along SW Capitol Highway between SW Garden Home and SW Taylors Ferry Roads. Construction is anticipated to begin in late winter 2020.
