Darker days bring a greater risk of crashes. To help make us all more visible, the Bureau of Transportation will be providing retro-reflective stickers that you can apply to outerwear, strollers, backpacks, bikes, helmets, canes, or walkers. The stickers are all different shapes and sizes so you can be creative in your design!
Two bags are as bright as these smiles after making their own reflective designs at a recent Fix-It Fair event.
Make sure you know all the important information about traveling in ice and snow as winter weather approaches.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is planning to make improvements along the three-mile section of SE Stark St between SE 108th Ave and SE 162nd Ave. In just the past five years, seven people have died in transportation-related crashes along this section of SE Stark.
Oregon Metro recently wrote a nice story about our new pilot program transitioning bike safety education from elementary schools into middle school PE and health classrooms.
"Balto is also changing the way people think about getting to and from school. More kids are walking and rolling through the neighborhood. Fewer parents are pulling up at the front door and waiting in their cars, and the bike racks are filling up."
The video was created in partnership with Disability Rights Oregon, Rooted in Rights, and Lime.
