Once every three years, Metro opens a competitive grant process called the Regional Flexible Funds Allocation (RFFA). This is a chance for cities throughout the region to fund new transportation projects. For the 2022-2024 window, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) submitted eight projects (shown in the map above). This week Metro released an initial comparison of these projects across the region.
“This is a great opportunity for you to let Metro know what projects would help make it easier to get from place to place,” said Transportation Commissioner Chloe Eudaly. “I encourage everyone to participate and help make Portland a city where everyone can travel safely, easily and sustainably.”
From now until Oct. 7, the public may submit comments to help Metro decide how to spend $43 million on improving walking, biking, and access to transit. Not all projects will be funded, so it’s crucial you make your voice heard if you think there are projects the region should prioritize.
You can view all of the projects by visiting the 2022-24 RFFA Candidate Projects page on Metro’s website. There you will find an interactive survey where you can review all 23 proposals from Clackamas, Washington, and Multnomah counties.
