Sunday Parkways North Portland, June 30th

Portland in the Streets Sunday Parkways setup

June marks the 50th Sunday Parkways ride!

Grab your bike or your walking shoes and come and celebrate Sunday Parkways in North Portland! The Portland in the Streets team will be out with games, activities, program information, and swag under the pink pop-up tents at McCoy Park. You can't miss us!

Bring your friends and play connect four, cornhole, or giant jenga. If games aren't your thing, you can help create a unique piece of chalk art on the street next to our booth.

The 9.5 mile ride for this route features an incredible double loop with lots of fun and games along the way! The iconic Portland in the Streets Putt-Putt golf course will be located at Peninsula Park and Rose Garden. Stop by and play a few holes.

We can't wait to see you out there!

Montgomery Pop-Up Plaza - Open until June 16th

Montgomery pop-up plaza

Portland State University's (PSU) Montgomery Pop-Up Plaza, a temporary plaza space between SW 6th and Broadway, is still OPEN! The successful programming by PSU, along with the interest from the public and students, made the decision to extend the closure permit from the end of May to the end of the semester (June 16th) an easy choice.

The project provides a closed pedestrian and bicycle only connection between PSU Urban Plaza and the South Park Blocks. It provides an interesting opportunity to see how creating additional pedestrian-only spaces impacts urban places. PBOT has partnered with PSU to collect data about how the closure is impacting traffic in the area.

This project was permitted through the Portland in the Streets community event and street prototyping programs.

Last Thursdays on Alberta

Last Thursday on Alberta

Last Thursdays on Alberta is an art walk that stretches 15 blocks along Northeast Alberta Street from 15th Ave to 30th Ave. The street is filled with art from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the last Thursday of June, July, and August.

Artists display and sell their work along the route. Many consider this event the most fun place to buy art in Portland. You'll find a wide variety of art, performances and food to keep you entertained.

This event that embodies the spirit of Portland is one you won't want to miss!
