Will the project include traffic diversion on Tillamook between Williams and Martin Luther King Jr.?

We will be collecting additional volume data in this area before testing a traffic diverter on Tillamook. We haven’t been able to update this data because the Bureau of Environmental Services’ Eliot Sewer and Stormwater Project has been affecting travel patterns. We will collect data after the conclusion of the stormwater project this summer and share more information with this email list about the information collected and next steps at that time.

Project construction timeline

Construction will take place in phases, beginning in Spring 2019. Work will be completed by PBOT Maintenance Operations staff. Construction between Flint and Martin Luther King Jr. will not begin until the conclusion of the Eliot Sewer and Stormwater Project. We hope to finish all work in 2019, though the schedule can be delayed by weather.

Spring 2019 - Phase 1:
Marked crosswalks and signage at 7th and Tillamook.
Signed crossing at 24th and Tillamook.
Marked crosswalks at Flint and Vancouver (depending on BES stormwater project schedule).
On-street parking removal for vision clearance at intersections and projects.
Bike boxes at Martin Luther King Jr.

Phase 2:
Crosswalk and cross-bike striping at 21st and Tillamook.
Speed bumps and turning of stop signs to favor Greenway.

Phase 3:
21st and Tillamook pedestrian islands and curb ramps construction.

Thank you again for your interest. Please visit our project webpage for more information and be in touch if you have any questions.

Best,
Liz
