(Nov. 29, 2018) The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements on SE 17th Avenue between SE Tacoma and SE Spokane will close the northbound lane of SE 17th Ave from December 2 through December 12, during all hours and all days.

The lane closures will allow crews to replace the asphalt bus pad with concrete for a more durable surface. In addition, crews will repair other failures to the roads surface while the concrete is allowed time to cure. The base repair work is funded by Fixing Our Streets. This is the 135th Fixing Our Streets base repair project completed in 2018.

Parking and traffic restrictions will be in place for the duration of this project. SE 17th Ave northbound from SE Tacoma to SE Spokane will be closed for the duration of this project to allow crews to perform their work in a safe and efficient manner and allow the concrete to cure to the appropriate strength. Northbound travelers should follow detour signage to SE 13th Ave or SE McLoughlin Blvd.

The traveling public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made. We ask the public to travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change.
