Did you know that year-round, free compost is a feature of two Portland in the Streets programs?

Introducing Spaces to Places and Adopt a Landscape

Do you walk or ride past a place that could use some tender loving care?  Are you ready to bring together your network of community-minded friends on beautifying your part of Portland?

The Portland in the Streets Program invites you to beautify your neighborhood through the Spaces to Places and Adopt a Landscape programs.  As a Spaces to Places or Adopt a Landscape permit holder, "Compost Week" is a year-round event!  Use the free compost to re-purpose, enhance, and energize adjacent spaces of unimproved public right-of-way space (for example, planting strips, medians, or pathways).

Access to year-round, high quality compost means your Spaces to Places or Adopt a Landscape project (community garden, parklet, native habitat plot, or median garden) will be resilient and healthy through the year.

For more information on Spaces to Places or Adopt a Landscape, call or contact us at portlandinthestreets@portlandoregon.gov 503.823.5520
