(Oct. 20, 2017) At a news conference on Tuesday Oct. 31, Mayor Ted Wheeler and Commissioner Dan Saltzman will announce the city's new procedures for snow and ice events. Winter weather also requires the public to plan ahead, so they will also share transportation tips everyone should have to be prepared. The Portland Bureau of Transportation will share winter planning documents, including the bureau's Winter Weather Salt Plan.
In November, PBOT and regional partner agencies will offer more winter weather preparation information for the public and the news media.
What: Mayor Wheeler and Commissioner Dan Saltzman, who oversees PBOT, provide winter weather plan update
When: 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017
Where: North Atrium, Portland City Hall, 1221 SW Fourth Ave.
Why: PBOT is the lead agency for the City of Portland's winter weather response. The bureau prepares each year for severe weather and encourages the public to prepare for winter weather as well.
