Commissioner Saltzman, Director Treat, Nike and Kerr Bikes launch Adaptive BIKETOWN with party on Friday

 

Adaptive BIKETOWN


(July 20, 2017) – City Commissioners Dan Saltzman and Chloe Eudaly and PBOT Director Leah Treat will join representatives of Kerr Bikes and Nike and members of Portland's disability community in launching Adaptive BIKETOWN, the first City-sponsored program of its kind in the nation, at a party on Friday, July 21. Adaptive BIKETOWN, an extension of the City's bike share system, will provide a bike rental service for people with varying abilities and will offer a mix of tandem, hand cycles and three-wheeled bicycles for rent by the hour with the goal of increasing access to cycling.

What: Launch, kick-off party and group bike ride for Adaptive BIKETOWN, the City's adaptive bike rental program.

When: 11:30 a.m. to noon, Friday July 21, 2017.

Where: Kerr Bikes, 1945 SE Water Ave (Building B, near the Esplanade), Portland. Event parking available at the OMSI parking lot via Water Avenue (follow event signage). Group ride goes about a half mile to Different Spokes, a project sponsor, at 423 SE Ivon St. for a reception.
