PBOT Traffic Advisory:

SW Tichner Drive CLOSED for landslide, between W Burnside Dr and SW Kingston Ave

(7:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017) – The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that SW Tichner Drive is closed between West Burnside Road and SW Kingston Drive because of a landslide that sent debris into the roadway.

There is no estimate on when the road may be reopened. Crews need daylight to assess the risk to city staff and the public, and to clear the debris.

People traveling to Washington Park should consider alternate routes, driving via the Zoo Exit from U.S. 26 West and public transit. Ongoing construction has closed several routes from the downtown area to the park. For more information on closures related to the Washington Park Reservoir Improvements project, see https://www.portlandoregon.gov/water/62547

The news media and the public should stay away from the area. Do not walk, bike or drive past "street closed" signs. We ask travelers to observe all street closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes.
