If you know of a deserving company (including your own), consider submitting a nomination for one of the following award categories:
- Mayor's Trade Award (Portland metro area)
- Emerging Exporter
- Oregon Trade Award
- Leadership Award
Awards Criteria
Mayor’s Trade Award
Celebrating Portland metropolitan area companies with growing international business. The award recognizes any organization that is judged to have demonstrated the most impressive leadership qualities and effective approach to identifying and building demand for their products and services internationally and/or innovative ways of working with overseas partners across their international markets in 2020-21. Judges will look for an approach or style that is different or innovative, evidence of employee involvement, strong local impact/job growth and year over year revenue growth as a result of international operations or trade.
Emerging Exporter
This award recognizes a company that has been trading internationally for two years or less at the time of nomination. Judges will look at entrepreneurial aptitude, commercial acumen, vision, ambition, and drive to build a successful international enterprise. The successful company nominee will have been able to develop new growth opportunities abroad that have resulted in increased sales, profit, market share, head count or geographical expansion.
Oregon Trade Award
This prestigious award is made to a company in the region that is judged to have achieved the most impressive overall business performance internationally during 2021. Judging will be based on clarity of international strategy, innovative approaches or style, achievement of revenue and job growth as a result of international operations or trade.
Leadership Award
Open to any company, organization or individual who has positively impacted our region's international trade environment. This award celebrates high performing companies and/or individuals, and recognizes efforts that build and elevate the positive economic impacts of international trade to the success of their company, industry and the broader community. This award recognizes exemplary efforts that create a foundation and path for continuing long-term benefits in our region through international trade.
