New Pest Alert: Houdini fly (Cacoxenus indagator)

Washington State Department of Agriculture confirms reports of a new pest in Washington State

A new mason bee pest has been found.  It is a European fly that steals the bee larvae's food.  They are calling it the Houdini fly (Cacoxenus indagator).  It is confirmed in Washington State and is likely to be found in Oregon, but currently remains unconfirmed here.

The moral of the story is: "Please do not unnecessarily move bee blocks or boxes around."
