2019 Hemp Applications Are Available

Good day,

Thank you to everyone for their patience. The Hemp Industry in Oregon has grown by leaps and bounds since we started in 2015. You grew from just 13 registered growers that first year to approximately 572 this year. As many of you know, there have been annual changes by the Legislature as well. It has brought ODA many learning opportunities.

We experienced some of those learning opportunities in our latest round of rule-making. There is a very specific process for any rules that involve any changes to fees. We were not able to get the appropriate sign-offs for those fee changes in time for the 2019 growing season.

Therefore, registration fees for 2019 remain the same as in 2018 at $1300 for growers and handlers. Agricultural seed producers are also the same at $120.

The new rules were filed yesterday and we are waiting for a clean copy of the hemp rules to be returned. We will update the rules link on the hemp webpage and send out another email as soon as those are available.

ODA expects to adopt and use a new registration fee structure for 2020 registrations. The rule-making process will establish the amounts and is open to public comment. ODA will use this email list to announce when new rules are available for comment.

2019 industrial hemp applications are now available at https://oda.direct/hemp or the button below.

Applications typically take four weeks to process if all the information is complete and accurate. Applications containing incomplete or inaccurate information can take longer.

If you are registered for 2018 and submit all the appropriate paperwork, you can continue to operate while ODA works on your renewal.

Again, we thank you for your patience and look forward to working with you in 2019.

Sincerely,

Sunny Summers

Cannabis Policy Coordinator and Special Projects
