What We're Up To📣
- Oregon Governor Tina Kotek signed House Bill 4022 on March 17, 2026, officially codifying the statewide Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She held a ceremonial bill signing event for the early literacy legislation at the East County Library in Gresham, Oregon and we were so happy to be in attendance.

- Save the Date! Join us for the 2nd Annual NW Regional Early Learning Summit, presented in partnership with CCR&R, the NWRESD EI/ECSE Program, and the Hub. This years focus is- Belonging Begins With Us: Connection at the Heart of Early Learning.

NW Early Learning Hub handles eligibility and placements for Preschool Promise, which offers ~190 seats across the region.
Oregon's Department of Early Learning & Care is planning to open an RFA to expand the list of eligible Preschool Promise providers in our region. Watch this website for updates.

Family Learning Opportunities
We are pleased to share recordings from the Molly Ness “Growing Readers” webinar series, featuring practical strategies for supporting reading at home. Each session is available until July 21st!

PODER modules are available in English and Spanish, designed by latine families for latine families raising multilingual kids. These short modules strengthen family leadership, knowledge of literacy and support parents to engage with their local schools.

Parent Perspective🏠
On June 9, 2026, Strolling Thunder™ families representing all 50 states and Washington, D.C., gathered on Capitol Hill to raise their voices and tell Congress what babies and young children need to thrive.
We were especially excited that our very own Governance Council Parent Representative, Anastasia Rigby, along with her husband, Brett, and their child, Delta, were selected to represent Oregon's families during this important national advocacy event!

Family Leadership Council!
If you're a parent or serving as a parent to young children, we invite you to join our Family Leadership Council (FLC). FLC focuses on helping parents build their leadership skills, discusses parenting topics, and engages in community projects to promote family well-being through-out the region. FLC members also give us input about our work and have an opportunity to contribute their voice to inform our work and investments. We run two cohorts each year - one cohort is facilitated in English and the other is facilitated in Spanish. Click this link to learn more. Click this link to submit your interest form.

Part-time Afterschool Tutors.
If you live in (or near) Vernonia School District or Nestucca Valley School District, we are looking for after-school tutors to work with young elementary schoolers to support their literacy skills. This is a paid opportunity, training and on-going support are provided. Must commit to working 3 afternoons a week for 10-weeks.

NW Parenting- A regional collaborative that delivers parenting education programs, educational workshops, family engagement opportunities and support for school success to families in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties. You can view the NW Parenting calendar here to see upcoming events.
Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education- Please contact them if you ever have any concerns about a young child's development.
NW Regional Child Care Resource & Referral- Provides training and technical assistance to child care providers and Preschool Promise grantees in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties.
