Work together to define and strengthen our Career Connected Learning systems in order to create more opportunities for students to pursue their postsecondary goals in an ever-evolving world. This group is for secondary career counselors, school counselors, school-to-career specialists, and more. If you help direct students for post-secondary career preparation, this cohort is for you!

- Advise the ESDs workforce development service launching in 2027-28 school year.

- September 30th, 9 am to 2 pm at NWRESD Washington Service Center

The Northwest Regional ESD Mentorship Program provides learning and support for CTE teachers in their first five years of teaching within their specific content area/program of study and overall teaching success.
The CTE mentorship is a key component of efforts to provide vital support to school districts by pairing early-career educators (< 5 years) with experienced CTE Teacher Mentors to ensure instructional success. CTE Mentors are needed in everyCTE Career Area and will receive a stipend. This mentorship allows for the sharing of expertise and resources across district lines, maximizing the impact of Career and Technical Education for all learners in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook, and Washington counties.
Tentative Dates for in person Professional Development are:
- September 17th
- December 3rd
- January 14th
- March 11th
- May 20th
Substitute reimbursement is provided to districts.

Northwest Regional ESD is offering a six-week paid Student Intern opportunity through the School Performance and Workforce Development department. Interns will gain hands-on experience in education, communications, or technology while building professional skills in a real-world environment. This position pays $17.30 per hour and is a great opportunity for students interested in career exploration, teamwork, and community impact. Interested applicants should be reliable, eager to learn, and comfortable using basic computer applications.

Late elementary school through early high school female-identifying students (age 8 through 15) are invited to attend a week of a hands-on summer camp! Participants will hear from guest speakers from various trades including electricians, roofers, water maintenance workers and more! Additionally, students will complete a comprehensive project and several workshop projects through their experience. Learn more about the camp on the website.

Architecture in Schools is hosting a summer camp for youth ages 8 to 12 from June 22nd to June 26th. This year's theme is 'Small Changes = BIG IMPACT, Designing Sustainable and Resilient Communities'. Camp participants can expect to learn about ways they can use design to suppport some of the smallest community members including birds and bugs.
Every day features a live Zoom session from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Additionally, AFO will send daily emails with the lessons including hands-on design activities, reading, thinking exercises and pre-recorded videos.
Register by June 12th to join the summer camp.

 Oregon Life Sciences has launched Rad Lab, a free interactive video game designed to introduce Oregon youth ages 13–24 to careers in biotechnology, bioscience, medical devices, and life sciences manufacturing. Through hands-on gameplay, students build foundational STEM and employability skills while exploring real Oregon career pathways, salaries, and education opportunities. Rad Lab is designed for classroom, after-school, and independent use, with web and mobile access available statewide.

CTE Skills Summit
Teachers, are you looking for a way to increase skills in your program of study? Join Portland Area Career Technical Education Consortium (PACTEC) this summer for a brand-new skill building summit geared towards active learning and application of new knowledge. This hands-on learning will include opportunities to bring back fresh materials to your classrooms while learning from industry experts. Sessions vary in subject matter including culinary, welding, cybersecurity, and more - including generalized workshops for all programs of study!

Oregon Tradeswomen Trades and Apprenticeship Class
Oregon Tradeswomen facilitates the Pathways to Success program which features a 192-hour trades and apprenticeship class (TACC). TACC highlights program participants to a variety of skilled trades through field trips, guest speakers, hands-on work days, and trades-specific training opportunities. The training program is offered at no cost with some eligibility requirements including a minimum age of 18, have a high school diploma (or GED), and more.
The 2026 TACC summer semester takes place from August 3rd through September 21st featuring information sessions May 4th through May 15th. Fall sessions begin in July with class beginning on October 26th.

Synapse Camp - Health Career Exploration
Hosted in partnership by the Oregon Healthcare Workforce Institute Area Health Education Center (OHWI-AHEC) and Pacific University - meet real professionals and faculty at the annual Synapse summer camp. The 2026 Synapse summer camp will be from June 22nd to June 26th.
Participants can expect:

Participaton requirments:
- Must be a rising sohpomore OR junior - graduating seniors may NOT apply

Opportunities with Junior Achievement
Looking for a meaningful way to give back and make an impact on the next generation? Junior Achievement offers engaging volunteer opportunities that help students develop real-world financial skills.
Volunteer in JA Summer Camps
Junior Achievement summer camps run Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Volunteers can come for one day, several, or the entire week! Volunteers can expect to assist group leads with activities, help facilitate the simulations, and guide students in their cumulating projects.
Summer 2026 camp weeks:
- June 22 - 26 in Portland
- July 6 - 10 in Hillsboro
- July 20 - 24 in Portland
- August 3 - 8 in Hillsboro
