What We're Up To
- Our Family Support Mini-grant Application is now open! We are excited to accept applications from organizations in Clatsop, Columbia, and Tillamook Counties serving families caring for children prenatally to age six, and their siblings. Open from now until November 22nd @ 4pm. See our application for more information and to apply.
- Are you interested in becoming a Parent Representative for our Governance Council? We believe that work should be informed by the experiences and needs of the families we serve! Share your expertise and experience with us as a parent in the community. See our Google Form for more information and to apply.
- An exciting partnership between NW Early Learning Hub and ODHS Region 1 will bring Little Free Libraries to ODHS offices across the region by January 2025. We are very thankful to the community members who have helped us come up with a "recipe" of what books to include in these libraries. We are now in the process of waiting for books to come in!
- The "Inspired to Read" Art Contest has received 44 submissions! The submissions are currently being reviewed and winners will be determined by November 18th, 2024.

Parent Perspective
We asked our Family Leadership Council: What is your favorite time or place to read with your child(ren) and why? Read their responses and maybe take a moment to reflect on your own answer.
- “Reading has always been a special activity shared between our family. While I enjoy reading any time or place my absolute new favorite is having my 7 year old read to us (myself, dad, and younger brother) while curled up together in our bed. Core memories made feeling pride, love, and a whole lot of joy.”
- “El momentos idóneo para leer con mis hijas es después de comer, de pequeñas leían junto a mí en voz alta, ahora lo hacen en su habitación” / “The ideal time to read with my daughters is after eating, when they were little they read out loud with me, now they do it in their room”
