Portland Area Career Technical Education Consortium (PACTEC) and Portland Metro STEM Partnership are teaming up with Northwest Regional ESD's CCR team to host educator externships in Columbia, Washington, and Multnomah counties. Please share your voice to help us design the externships to your benefit. Registration will become available closer to the end of the academic year.

This exciting summer institute is designed for any high school and community college educators who may be interested in learning more about mapping, GIS, and Geospatial Technologies. Register for this opportunity to learn how geospatial technologies can be leveraged in classrooms across multiple disciplines. Attendees will receive a $400 stipend and graduate credits or PDUs. This training is designed to teach you more about how Oregon Employability Skills (OES) can be used in your AVID, CTE programs of study, social-emotional learning, and career connected learning classrooms. At the end of this training, you can expect to have the skills to implement the OES curriculum into your classroom and/or program.

In this computer science professional development, content teachers and counselors from across the region will participate in a one-day professional development to help them learn how to implement computer science into their every day curriculum (with a focus on engaging female-identifying students.)

In this summer learning experience, incoming 9th graders will participate in a two-day summer camp which provides hands-on activities in computer science in order to increase career exposure and awareness.

What is codeORcreateNW? A 3-day Work-Based Learning challenge for high school students aligned to computer science, communications & technology, and digital marketing.
Join us in shaping the Fall 2024 event, tentatively to be held in November at Tillamook Bay Community College. Educators or Parents can chaperone teams for this fun and engaging event!

What is Junior Achievement Biztown?
JA Biztown is a capstone program which combines in-class learning that culiminates to a day-long visit to a simulated town. Students have the opportunity to play roels such as citizens, workers, and consumers during their simulation and learn the importance of rights and responsibilities in a community. Students also learn about soft skills necessary for world of work. This program is recommended for grades 4-6. Watch this video to get a better idea of what the day is like for students.

What is Junior Achievement Finance Park? Similar to JA Biztown, JA Finance Park is a capstone program designed for personal finance learning. This specific program helps students build a foundation on which they can make informed financial decisions as they grow older and begin to enter adulthood. Students are assigned random adult identities and walkthrough setting a budget with their hypothetical salary and various life events. Willamette Promise is a dual credit opportunity for high schools in our region. They offer a variety of accelerated credit courses transcribed with Western Oregon University and Oregon Institute of Technology that help students focus on post-secondary education and training.

We invite you to join us on April 2nd for a virtual introduction to the SchooLinks Career and College Guidance platform. In this demonstration you will learn how SchooLinks can support your district in career connected learning! The student platform supports career and college exploration, college application document management, and has other optional features including work-based learning and much, much more!

High school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates are invited to apply for a two-week manufacturing summer bridge program hosted by us! The program will begin on July 8th and end on July 19th. In the program, teens can expect to develop employability skills, explore careers in manufacturing, engage with industry partners, and tour local companies. Students will earn a scholarship for completing the workshop in addition to work-readiness gear. More details can be found on this flier.
