This training is designed to teach you more about how Oregon Employability Skills (OES) could help your district meet essential employability skills in AVID, CTE programs of study, social-emotional learning, and career connected learning. At the end of this training, you can expect to have skills to train district staff on how to use the OES curriculum and guidelines.
This training is designed with the following in mind:
- CTE Coordinators
- WBL Coordinators
- School Counselors
- AVID Coordinators
- CCL Navigators
- WORKS Coordinators
- Etc!
If you are interested in leading and advancing OES curriculum in your district, register for the train the trainer training here. The training is on January 30th from 9 am to 3 pm at Perlo Construction in Tualatin, OR - lunch will be provided.

If you are registered for a simulation, please review this training schedule and sign up for a slot that fits your schedule. Keep in mind the curriculum must be taught before the simulation date. We would recommend to attend a training at least 3 months before your registration date. Read the FAQ to answer commonly asked questions.

Oregon ACTE is currently offering $1,000 scholarships to use toward career training education! Student applicants must be in a current career training program, including trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and certification programs. More information can be found on this flyer. |

The CTE Youth Advisory Council is launching the #ThisIsCTE social media campaign in February 2024. This campaign aims to gather videos, photos, and content to increase awareness of CTE.
Submissions are welcome until January 24, 2024. Please encourage students, instructors, and partners to participate using the provided FLYER and/or this submission FORM.

This is a great resource for anyone teaching students how to safely use tools! After you register as a secure user, you will get access to free training videos for the following equipment: Band saw, Circular Saw, Drill Press, jointer, Miter Saw, Multipurpose Saw Safety, Nail Gun, Planer, Portable Drill, Router, Sander, Table Saw and Wood Lathe. Users can also create class rosters and plan lessons for students. |

Oregon CIS also offers custom training on-site at your school or organization. Although these are usually fee-based, CIS does offer vouchers periodically in order to help sites access our support services.

George Fox University will be hosting an online programming competition for high school students on March 9th. Registration is free, and there is no limit to the number of teams that register from a school. The event also offers a four-day, non-competitive contest from March 5-8 for any teacher who wishes to use it as homework, in-class programming, or practice for the actual contest. This training will cover Section 504, disability civil rights, and district obligations set forth by the Rehabilitation Act and the US DOE’s Office for Civil Rights. Using case scenarios, this training targets core concepts including nondiscrimination; identification, evaluation, and placement; the role of the 504 coordinator/case manager; engaging the 504 team, and the newly signed law on abbreviated school day program placements for students with disabilities (SB 819).
