There is still time for high school students to register for our codeORcreate event this month!
- This is for any student interested in marketing, coding, and/or digital design.
- Teams will create either an app, website, marketing campaign, or video game in one weekend with the help of industry mentors.
- Prizes will be handed out on the final day after teams present their project to a panel of judges. Please encourage your students to register today!
This event is aligned to Oregon Work-Based Learning (WBL) standards for related CTE Programs of Study.

Who: High school counselors to learn how to analyze sample essays', identify strategies to assist students, and meet with Dr. Cornelia Paraskevas who is a retired Professor of Linguistics and Writing at Western Oregon University. Register and learn more information about the Essay Writing Workshop.

Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce Hiring Expo
When: May 12th, 2023 from 10am-4pm
Where: Wingspan Event & Conference Center (801 NE 34th Ave Hillsboro, OR 97124)
Who: Current and graduating students to learn more about diverse employment fields, summer employment opportunities, and summer internships. Adult applicants over are welcome after 1:30 pm.
PCC OMIC Fab Lab Grand Opening
When: May 12th, 2023 from 12pm-6pm
Where: PCC OMIC Training Center
What: Learn about the Fabrication Lab at PCC OMIC to experience 3D printing, laser cutting, virtual reality audio visual equipment, arts, and crafts. Contact steam@pcc.edu for more information.

Sphero STEM Symposium

Tillamook WORKS
Tillamook county students have a multitude of opportunities to intern within the county. View the Tillamook Works website to learn more information. Students must be at least 16 years old to participate in Tillamook Works.
Clatsop WORKS
Clatsop county students can become a summer intern by applying for a position through Clatsop Works. Students must be at least 16 years old to apply for an internship. Summer hosts include Astoria Police Department, Buddha Kat Winery, City of Gearhart, Coastal Restoration, Hampton Lumber, Helligso Construction, and more! Girls Who Code
Encourage your computer science female-identifying, or non-binary, students to join the Girls Who Code's Virtual Summer Immersion Program to learn skills, network, and build a community in two weeks! Participants have the chance to earn grants and tech supplies while learning the basics of game design.
FBI Teen Academy
High school juniors and seniors will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to directly engage with FBI agents, run hands-on simulations, and practice forensics. Apply by April 14th.

July Educator Externships
NWRESD's Career & College Readiness team alongside NW STEM Hub is working with Clatsop and Tillamook County to provide a multi-day externship experience for educators. The externships span from July 24th through July 27th covering career areas such as natural resources, construction, health occupations, and agriculture.
Register to attend one or all of these externships in Clatsop and/or Tillamook County.

- This is an 18-credit graduate certificate
- All courses are offered fully online in the summer term, and the certificate can be completed in two summers.
- Whether currently teaching dual enrollment, considering it in the future, or just looking to improve how writing is taught at the current grade level, this certificate will enhance teachers’ knowledge about writing theory and best practices in writing instruction which will benefit all our students.
