Nancy Ford, the executive director of Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education, announces retirement

After 30 years of service to Northwest Regional ESD, Nancy Ford, the executive director of Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE), announced she will retire at the end of this school year.

“Nancy’s commitment to our region’s youngest learners is unequivocal,” says Deputy Superintendent Sarah Pope. “The relationships she has developed over the years with families and community partners is extensive, and her compassion and kindness will be sorely missed!”

Nancy’s proudest accomplishment: "My greatest accomplishment was transitioning EI/ECSE from the Washington County Department of Health and Human Services to the ESD in 1992 when the legislature adopted the EI/ECSE program into law."  Nancy’s most memorable experience: "My most memorable experience is the dedicated and talented individuals I have had the honor to work with both within the ESD and across the state. I've witnessed the EI/ECSE program evolve from its infancy in 1992 to the remarkable program it is today."

Superintendent Dan Goldman is hosting two opportunities for EI/ECSE staff to share the qualities they would like to see in their next leader. These sessions will take place on January 14 from 11 am to 12 pm and from 3 to 4 pm. EI/ECSE staff will receive google calendar invites shortly.
