Molalla Residents,
In 2023, the Molalla City Council made a major commitment to city residents and property owners. The City Council asked you to vote yes on a $16 million bond to build a new police station for our community, promising we would use those funds wisely. You placed that trust in us, and we are proud to report that we kept our promise.
As of December 4, 2025, every single dollar approved by voters went directly into this project. The project was completed early, and came in under budget—exactly how taxpayer dollars should be managed.
On December 19, the Molalla Police Department will begin moving into the new facility. With a little luck, the building will be open to the public on December 22 or 23. It is proof that when leadership stays disciplined and goal-oriented, results follow.
I want to thank the Molalla City Council, City staff, and our Police Department for their dedication and professionalism. We also should recognize our outstanding project partners: McKenzie Group, P&C Construction, and Otak.
Special thanks to Green Mountain Excavation for their incredible work, Knife River for donating the boulders out front, and Staub Construction Services for large police badge inside using the old bowling alley lanes—an incredible tribute to our city’s history.
From the beginning, the Council asked for two things: incorporate the old bowling alley lanes however possible into the new building and hire as many local vendors as possible. We are proud to report that 54% of this project utilized local vendors.
To the people of Molalla—thank you for trusting us with your money.
This project proves that when government respects taxpayers, keeps its word, and stays focused on results, trust is earned—not demanded. Molalla delivered. This is the standard our residents deserve, and it’s the standard every level of government should be held to.
