Oregon is celebrating its 166th birthday, just in time for Valentine’s Day. On February 14, 1859, Oregon officially became the 33rd state of the United States.
Oregon, known for its diverse landscapes and outdoor recreation, showcases its beauty across the state through its famous Seven Wonders. One of the most iconic landmarks, Crater Lake National Park, sits in Medford's back yard.
Our Public Works crews worked around the clock to plow and sand icy roads and clear downed trees from last week's winter storm. Police and Fire personnel also responded to emergencies to keep residents safe, while Parks crews assisted with clearing snow and trees. Thank you for your patience and support as our staff worked hard to address hazards and keep Medford safe!
The Water Reclamation Division (WRD) recently received a $35,039 incentive from the Energy Trust of Oregon for participating in the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program.

Medford’s investment in recreational facilities is paying off in a big way. Two of the City’s premier sports and event venues—Rogue Credit Union Community Complex (Rogue X) and Lithia & Driveway Fields—have made a significant economic impact in 2024, collectively generating over $20 million for the local economy.
Knife River has begun paving for Stage III, Phase 3 of the Foothill Road project, from Normil Terrace to Cedar Links Drive.
Medford City Council meetings will take place on the first & third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m., with Study Sessions on the second Wednesday at 6 p.m.
