Dear Friends, I wanted to give you a quick office update as my office staff will be changing. In the past, you might have worked with my Chief of Staff, Abby Slaven. Abby has been commuting from Prineville for the last several years to serve the people of HD 23. As someone who used to travel a lot for work, I know how difficult it is to be away from your family for weeks on end…let alone 6 months during long session. So, when the opportunity arose for her to accept a great job, closer to home, it only made sense. Although I'm happy for Abby, this is bittersweet as she will be very missed. Please help me welcome Dawson Quinton to my office. Dawson will be taking over as my Chief of Staff effective immediately. Dawson has previous experience working in the building, lives in the Salem, and is recently married to an amazing woman who works in the Senate Republican office. I know he will take great care of the office and everyone in HD 23. I hope you are all having a great summer, and as always, please reach out to my office with any questions or concerns. Sincerely,

Much of our state is in the midst of a difficult fire season. Now more than ever, it's important to stay alert, stay informed, and encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same.

Wildfires and field fires can happen with little warning, as we saw recently in Dallas. So, preparation is key. Have an emergency plan, pack a go-bag with essential supplies, stay informed about local fire conditions, and be ready to evacuate if needed.

To help you stay informed throughout the season, I got a list from the House Republican Office of state and national resources for tracking wildfire activity, evacuation information, as well as how to find out about and mitigate air quality change when fires occur.

Oregon was well represented at the annual CSG West conference in Utah. CSG West represents Legislators from all parties in the States of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, American Samoa, Guam and Northern Mariana Islands.
