Dear Friends and Neighbors,
This Independence Day is unlike any other period. As Americans, we celebrate not only our nation's birth, but a remarkable milestone - 250 years of freedom, perseverance, and self-government.
While milestones invite us to look back, they also challenge us to look ahead. The America we leave to our children and grandchildren will be shaped by the choices we make today - how we treat one another, how we serve our communities, and how faithfully we uphold the liberties entrusted to us.
Here in House District 18, I've had the privilege of meeting people who quietly live out the American spirit every day. They volunteer, raise families, operate small businesses, farm the land, wear the uniform, teach our children, and step forward whenever a neighbor is in need. These acts of service rarely make headlines, but they are the foundation of a strong and enduring nation.
America's story has never been written by government alone. It has always been written by citizens who believe that freedom comes with responsibility and that the blessings we enjoy are worth preserving for the next generation.
As we gather with family and friends this 4th of July, I hope you will take a moment to reflect on what this significant 250th birthday means, not only to celebrate the past, but to renew our commitment to the values that have carried our nation through triumphs and trials alike.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you in the Oregon House of Representatives. From my family to yours, I wish you a safe and meaningful Independence Day.
Sincerely,
|
